Social media marketing company for auto dealers
The Dealer Blog
Founded by Scott Golembiewski in 2009, The Dealer Blog provides car dealerships a suite of online marketing services that are all based on establishing a custom branded dealership blog.
As a blogger, Scott identified that blogs were going to be essential in establishing confidence in customers, and that websites were used for entirely different objectives such as listing available inventory, services, and product information.
Similarly, blogs can provide information about products, including image galleries, videos, and other documentation. However, a website lacks the engagement and functionality that buyers are using today to identify and learn about the credibility of a business.
Rating sites such as Yelp, Google Places, and DealerRater when it comes to automotive provide the consumer with the ability to read about recent transactions, the sales staff, and the overall experience. The transparency offered by these sites give buyers an unbiased view and a predictable experience to a degree.
The next logical step for car dealers is to be proactive by launching a blog, rather than reactive when negative reviews are left on 3rd party sites. When a dealership creates a blog, and publishes content that is helpful and informative to their customers, they are taking the initiative to produce information based upon the actual needs and requests of their customers.
For example, the manufacturer may produce many high quality and very useful videos that describe nearly every aspect of a particular vehicle. These are important, but they can’t get into every corner case that a dealer in a particular region might want to publish content about.
There are many ways to create value for your customers, but to do so on a blog makes others notice the effort, appreciating the investment in helpful content as opposed to intrusive advertising.

I saw your comment in Chris Brogan’s blog post about car dealers’ websites. I am always interested in anyone helping dealers do better with their online presence. I worked 3 weeks at a dealer this Summer before being let go for not selling enough cars. It was quite an experience!
It doesn’t look to me as if dealers are interested in the new trends for purchasing. Hopefully some are. Don’t fix what isn’t broke!
Anyway, keep up the good work!

Hi Todd,
Thanks, I appreciate you sharing the experience of working at a dealer, would be curious to know why you think dealers aren’t interested in new trends for purchasing. Did you get that feeling when you shared ideas or how did you come to that conclusion?
thanks!
