Advertising can make it happen but even some of the most clever advertising has but one primary objective, to get you to want something or at least become aware of something.
Ads have a short half-life, primarily due to promotions that end or seasonal offers that happen once a year.
Ads can be very compelling, they can make you really want something you can’t afford, and they can even manipulate the numbers to make it appear affordable until you read the fine print.
Ads are bait, they trigger spontaneous reactions. It’s in our nature to indulge and reward ourselves so ads tempt us to take risks.
Now lets look at another approach. Let’s call it the transparency tactic.
